Another round of recalls has hit the food industry. First applesauce, then beer, now this, and all for the same reason.

Star Snacks Co. has been forced to recall various batches of Southern Grove cashews from all Aldi stores in 28 states and Washington D.C. due to consumers reportedly finding glass shards in their packaging.

The recall notice was posted on Tuesday by the Food and Drug Administration. The potentially contaminated products have been removed from the shelves.

And while no injuries have been reported yet, some people are still at risk and Star Snacks is urging consumers to check to see if their cashews have been recalled.

More information from the recall notice: Consumers who have purchased the product in question are urged not to consume this product and may return the product to their local ALDI store for a refund or dispose of the item. Consumers with questions may contact Star Snacks at 201-882-4593.

To figure out if your nuts are dangerous, look for this information:

  • Type: Southern Grove Cashew Halves and Pieces with Sea Salt
  • UPC number: 041498179366
  • "Best By" dates: 11/27/2018 or 11/28/2018 which are printed on the bottom of the can

This is actually the second time that cashews have been recalled in the past year for the same reason, so maybe we need to pick another snack?
