The late Arnold Palmer may have won 62 career PGA Tour Titles, but the golfer's contribution to the beverage world might have been his best win. And this win — the perfect marriage of iced tea and lemonade — is definitely our favorite.

The origin of the drink might surprise you. Palmer, who passed away Sunday, invented the iconic summer beverage with his wife on a completely ordinary (albeit hot) day. Palmer recounted the origin of the Arnold Palmer in a 2012 interview with ESPN, stating, "I came home one day and my wife made a lot of iced tea for lunch, and I said, 'Hey babe, I've got an idea.'"

His trademarked iced-tea-to-lemonade ratio, however, has been misconstrued over the years. In the video, Palmer explains he instructed his wife to make a "big pitcher" of iced tea and suggested they put just "a little lemonade" in it. So, contrary to popular belief, the drink isn't half-and-half, and it certainly isn't lemonade mixed with iced tea. A true, idyllic Arnold Palmer is iced tea with a splash of lemonade.
