A festive popcorn is one of the easiest snacks to complete your Halloween party spread. This recipe is just a handful of ingredients that you likely already have in your pantry—popcorn, pretzels, chocolate chips, candy corn—and takes 10 minutes to whip up. If you’re looking for the perfect sweet-salty, last-minute Halloween snack to wow your party—this is it. Here’s everything you need to know on how to make it the best it can be:
How to make monster munch:
To make this festive snack, all you do is spread popcorn and pretzels (these bring the saltiness!) on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with melted chocolate. Then come the fun candy toppings: candy corn, M&M's—and whatever else your heart desires. Want to add Reese's Pieces for a peanut butter moment? Go for it. Sprinkle on some chopped Kit Kats? Never a bad idea. This monster munch is the perfect way to use up any of that extra Halloween candy you have siting in your pantry. Before you transfer it to the freezer, you're going to drizzle on more chocolate (we like white for this layer for a combo, but use whatever you please). The chocolate acts like a glue that holds all the popcorn "bark" components together.
Tip: We've made it using both regular popcorn and kettle corn and love it either way. If you want it a little sweeter, go for kettle.
Storage.
This snack mix is best the day of, but if you have any leftovers, store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days.
