For someone who's made a career of sashaying around a dance floor in sequins, fringe, and bold colors, Julianne Hough's wedding cake was surprisingly understated. The Dancing with the Stars judge said "I do" to her longtime fiancé, NHL star Brooks Laich, on July 8, and People just released an exclusive on the celebrations. Her three-tiered dessert was coated in a simple white frosting, with neutral flowers cascading down the side. It fit right in with the outdoor reception in Coeur d'Alene, ID, near Hough's family home.

The cake, made by local baker Kayla Carey of Sweet Simplicity, featured six different types of blooms — sort of an overrun garden look the carried throughout the entire wedding. The florist who supplied the flowers used more than 2,000 that day. Carey told People that Hough and Laich talked about a "simple, elegant design," and their flavors skewed just as classic.

All three tiers, each of which had four layers, were yellow cake covered in white buttercream. "Julianne lives a pretty healthy lifestyle and didn't want anything too heavy," Carey revealed. So between each layer in every tier, there was a different fruity frosting: strawberries and cream, blackberries and cream, and raspberries and cream.

Hough shared with the magazine that her favorite moment of her big day was "kissing each other for the first time as husband and wife as the confetti cannons exploded." But, she sure looks happy sharing a smooch over that incredible cake, too.
