It's a well known fact that the majority of the population is overworked, overstressed, and underpaid. This can lead people to do everything they can in an effort to have more energy: from energy drinks to coffee naps. However, some people will go to the extreme for an extra boost. Sabina, a woman from Spain, decided that the regular old cup of coffee wasn't cutting it for her. And, for some strange reason, she decided the next best thing was to ask her friend for some of her breast milk.

Yes, that's right: breast milk.

Recently breast milk has emerged as the new quinoa or kale, with people claiming it can improve your skin, boost your immune, and be used as contact solution. Bodybuilders even say it helps them build muscle, and people undergoing chemotherapy have said that it helps alleviate side effects.

That all sounds great, but if the thought of drinking milk that has come out of another human horrifies you, it's apparently not as bad as you might think. Sabina told VICE that the breast milk tasted sweet, almost like a watery horchata.

Unfortunately, there is an aftertaste that reminds you that what you're drinking is in fact breast milk. As unappetizing as that lingering reminder may be, it pales in comparison to the positive effects, Sabina argued. She stated that she felt "more energetic, more lucid, and purified." Hmm.

Sadly, breastfeeding advisor Alba PadrĂ³ says that these effects are mostly perceived and not actually measurable (damn you, placebo effect!), adding that breast milk really only aid babies. However, Padro does admit that breast milk can, in fact, help those undergoing chemo treatments. For the rest of us it's probably best to stick with getting a good night of sleep and taking vitamins.
